It's a girl!!

We waited to find out the sex of the baby -- and I was convinced we were having a boy. But, low and behold, I was wrong. We have a baby girl!!! Reese Emma Ader was born 6.14.08 @ 8:07am. She weighed in at 7.5 lbs and was 21.5 inches long (why isn't this "tall??")

We celebrated father's day on reese's second day of life. Can i deliver with a father's day gift or what? Reese showed her enthusiasm with her "i love daddy" onesie--and Harris never looked happier.

We spent a few nights in the hospital and are excited to now be at home. Bringing our new baby home was a completely surreal experience for harris and me. While driving home (at a racing speed of 20 mph) harris remarked that the whole world looks different now that we have a baby. And that certainly seems true. I've never felt a greater sense of accomplishment than I do for caring for Reese. And it's only the beginning!!!

Yay for blogging! I love the picture of Reese in her "I love Daddy" onesie! I thought you were having a boy, too....but what a beautiful girl she is. It was great to see you guys this morning. I hope we'll visit again soon. Hugs and kisses to all!!

P.S. Even when Natalie started walking, the docs still refer to her height as "long" rather than "tall." Weird.

Sorry I haven't commented on the joyous occasion. I think she is beautiful too! We are really looking forward to meeting her some day! I hope you are recovering well and getting use to someone else's time schedule! The first weeks are the hardest...it gets better from here. I am sure you are enjoying yourself! Enjoy her being little because she will be all grown up in the snap of a finger. We love and miss you guys!
